Barry has been a professional journalist for some 20 years and a freelance motoring writer even longer.
He has worked for regional and suburban print media, and was sport and motoring writer with News Ltd's Quest Community Newspapers in Brisbane.
As a freelancer, Barry has contributed to more than 30 motoring, motor sport and motorcycling publications in Australia and the UK. He has also written three commissioned or self-published books: Driven to Succeed, Longford - Fast Track Back and Glory Days.
Motor sport has been a life-long passion, and Barry has competed in motorcycle, kart and car racing on a deficit of finance but surplus of enthusiasm.
He took up his current appointment with The Road Ahead in November 2007.
